In 1978, Scott Broome attended John Jay Beauty College and after completion he worked as a hairstylist in John Jay Salons for several years learning hair cutting, coloring and perming techniques from one of the most renowned hairstylists in the industry. After leaving John Jay, he worked for the national franchise of Command Performance managing twelve salons in the New Orleans area. Promoted to artistic director, Scott traveled around the Unites States attending training classes with Pivot Point International for advanced hair cutting and coloring.
Scott worked with New Orleans television station, Channel 4, on the first music video program in the area doing live make overs for the Saturday night show – Video Tracks.
Scott joined the Albert Brown Salon in the mid 1980’s where he learned the art of hair dressing and hair coloring from Albert Brown – specializing in hairstyling for Mardi Gras Balls. During this time, Scott did fashion layouts for the Times Picayune and even won the first New Orleans Alfa Award for hair and make-up.
In 1992, he opened Scott Broome Salon in New Orleans and worked on Hollywood motion pictures, Interview with a Vampire, and TV Pilots. He opened a second salon in River Ridge in 1995.
After over two decades as an apprentice, hairstylist and educator, Scott Broome designed and built his current salon in Harahan, LA, which opened in April 2000. A small and friendly boutique. The salon is operated solely by Scott Broome. The salon is located at 8397 Jefferson Highway at the corner of Malvern Lane.
Scott Broome is a certified Evolve Volumizer, Cinderella Hair Extension and Evolve Hair Extension technician.
